Exfoliate

How often should I exfoliate?

Pretty much everyone knows by now that regular skin exfoliation is the key to smooth, bright, and clear skin, but it can get downright confusing to know how often to exfoliate. A good rule is that you need to exfoliate at least twice a week—both your face and your body. Depending on your skin type and skin needs you can exfoliate more often.

Personally I have sensitive skin and Rosacea so I use Enzymatic Exfoliates,  Enzymes are much gentler than scrubs, enzyme exfoliants use enzymes derived from foods, such as pineapple and papaya, to get rid of your dead and dull skin cells.

Most enzymes also have anti-inflammatory properties that soothe irritations, so they’re great for sensitive skin!

For example, someone with oily, acne prone skin is going to want to use facial acids like salicylic acid pretty much every single day in order to prevent new pimples from forming and to clear up the ones they already have. Someone with sensitive skin will want to exfoliate less often. The stronger your chosen exfoliation product the less often you want to use it.

The skin on our bodies is usually less sensitive than the skin on our faces so it can be exfoliated a few times a week without a problem. This is especially necessary in the summer when you expose more skin. If you want your skin to glow you need to exfoliate it a few times a week.

My personal favourite is Peeling PEELING OXYGÉNANT DÉPOLLUANT $70 by Payot Paris

Rediscover your skin in a fresh light – it’ll feel like new! This peeling mask with its triple action – oxygenating, detoxifying, and neutralising pollution injects new vitality to dull skin.

Its pink gel transforms into a white foam that evaporates on the skin, removing the impurities and pollution coating your skin day after day and dulling its natural radiance.

The delicious, delicately fruity fragrance evaporates on the skin to envelop it in a cocoon of softness and wellbeing.
